Who we are

This app is published by AMS Labs, a one-person project run by Mohamad Al Asmar, resident in Saudi Arabia, who is the controller of the data described here. It is published on Google Play as AMS Labs Dev. Contact: support@amslabs.app.

In short

The app has no sign-up and no account, and we hold no data about you on any server of ours. It does show ads and can send notifications, and both rely on Google services. What the advertising collects is also shared by Google; what the notifications collect is gathered by Google as our processor and not shared onward — and none of that happens at all unless you turn notifications on yourself. The detail follows.

Advertising

The app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to show ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares:

• your device's IP address, which may be used to estimate your approximate location;
• your in-app interactions, such as app launches and taps on an ad;
• diagnostic information about app and ad performance;
• device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and the app set ID.

This is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and is encrypted in transit. The party it goes to is Google, and once collected it is governed by Google's privacy policy rather than this one.

On first launch the app asks for your consent to personalised advertising using Google's certified consent form. You can change that decision at any time under Settings → Privacy options. If you decline, ads still appear but are not personalised.

Notifications

The app can notify you when new images are added. Notifications are off unless you turn them on in Settings.

The app does not register your device with Google until you do. Only then does it use Firebase Cloud Messaging, at which point Google collects a Firebase installation ID and a registration token for your device, along with the app version and basic information about your device and its operating system. If you never turn notifications on, the app creates neither identifier and sends neither.

This data is collected and not shared: Google acts here as a processor on our behalf.

If you turn notifications off again, the app stops subscribing to categories, so no new announcements reach you — but it does not delete an identifier and token already created.

Notifications are broadcasts sent to everyone subscribed to a category. They are not targeted at you and do not depend on your behaviour. We keep no list of devices or tokens, and the app does not use Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics.

Loading images

The app's images are hosted on Cloudflare R2. Browsing them means your device contacts Cloudflare's servers, and your IP address reaches them as it would any server you request a file from. Access logging on the bucket is switched off, so we do not record these requests, do not keep them and do not read them, and we attach no identifier that would tie them to a person.

What stays on your device only

None of the following ever leaves your device, and we never see it:

• the images you added to Favorites;
• which categories you chose to show on the home screen;
• your appearance preference (automatic, morning or evening);
• your advertising consent decision;
• images cached to make browsing faster.

When you add a name to a picture, the app keeps the last five names you used, on your device only, so you can send them again quickly. They are never sent anywhere, and which name went on which picture is not recorded. You can clear them at any time in Settings.

It also remembers the last typeface, colour and size you used, on the device alone, so you start from them next time.

Uninstalling the app erases all of it. Images you saved to your device's gallery remain, because they belong to the gallery and not to the app.

System permissions

The app requests two permissions only: internet access to load images, and posting notifications, which is optional and which you can refuse or withdraw in your system settings without affecting the rest of the app.

Retention and deletion

We retain nothing about you: you have no account, we hold no record in your name, and we keep no access logs on our own servers. What lives on your device is erased when you uninstall. Data collected by Google is retained under Google's own policies.

Children

The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone below the age of consent in their country.

Your choices

At any time you can withdraw consent to personalised advertising from inside the app, turn notifications off in your system settings, clear the saved names from Settings, and remove everything relating to you by uninstalling. If what the app collects changes, this page and the date below are updated. The page stays at this address.
